The Kitty Tube Vent Cap and Gasket

This cap is needed to eliminate moisture laden air that can build up under the top lid. This moisture laden air can cause condensation in certain temperature swings. This cap serves the same purpose as the vents on the roof of your own home that expel excessive moisture in the winter and heat in the summer. This vent cap is very important in maintaining a dry interior for your cat.

*All Kitty Tubes will now include a vent cap and gasket.

NOTE: This cap can be installed on all older model Kitty Tubes and will greatly improve its performance. To install a vent cap on non Generation 3 Kitty Tubes a 1½ inch hole is needed on the top dead center of the lid to install. We recommend using a standard 1½ inch hole saw to make this hole.

Vent cap and gasket

The new vent cap and gasket work just fine. What I am really happy about is the fact that I can get parts for the Kitty Tube and that the folks at Kitty Tube did such a great job with the purchase process and shipping. Two thumbs up. Many thanks!

I recently had to replace the vent located in the top of my Kitty Tube. I expect the previous one had been absconded with by a raccoon, and we are entering the rainy season in TX. I was pleasantly surprised to see the exact part I needed was offered as a spare part, and received the part within days of ordering. Great Customer Service!

2 vent caps/gaskets

I ordered two extras to have on hand. I accidentally pulled on this to lift lid off in freezing cold temperature outside & broke several prongs off. My own fault. Won't do that again! Love your products! No one else comes close!

Great product from a great small U.S. business

The actual kitty tube is a fantastic product that has perfectly sheltered a couple of feral (but very friendly) cats. I contacted the company regarding a small concern with the vent cap and was pleased with the prompt and friendly interaction. This particular vent cap is prone to popping off during very hot weather (otherwise I'd give it 5 stars). The company is aware of the issue and is looking for a potential solution. Gorilla tape is a simple fix; it's not pretty, but it keeps this vital part attached during the heat of the day. Again, great company!

Vent Cap Addition

While I've never had any of the problems described in the product description, I felt it best to be proactive and install a vent cap to prevent any such thing. As a single, older woman, I have to say it was quite easy to install. My only recommendation for other petite females, such as myself, is to be sure and hold the drill firmly with both hands. Overall, it took me no more than ten minutes to gather the tools and do the installation.
